Many years ago, on the scariest day of the year, Mr & Mrs Walsh had a very scary surprise, a baby boy!
He emerged holding a tiny pencil and a tiny gauging trowel, and the doctors couldn't prize them from his tiny fingers.
After much discussion,the orthopaedic consultants took Mr & Mrs Walsh in to a private room, where it was explained to them that could see no alternative.... they would have to name their new born son,
......GaryTheTiler!!
And so it was, on this day in 1968 that
GaryTheTiler entered the world, ready and eager to lay his first tile.
And after a year with a significant number of highs and lows in 2016, it would seem there is nothing that can prize that tiny trowel and pencil from his grubby mitts!
And I must admit, I like everyone else in Gary's life, am very happy that he wouldn't let go of those bloody tools!
