Hi, first post so take it easy on me 🙂, need some advice on laying ceramic tiles on cork underlay. I read that it can be done on the internet.
The cork is glued solid to the concrete floor, so if possible what type of adhesive and grout would you recommend.
Taking the cork up is impossible so this is my only option as present....any help would be most appreciated.

Regards,
P

Its not impossible , just hard work. You will be able to hire a machine to help if required.....but what a strange time for this question on Christmas day !

I once read Elvis was still alive on the internet but that didn't mean it was true.

Cork is just too soft and unsuitable to tile on and if you do it will almost certainly fail to some degree. I would look into methods/tools of lifting it and be prepared for some hard work. Once you get your head down and into it it's amazing how quickly the job gets done.

posssible but hard work as mentioned above, try use scraper and hammer
to take larger pieces at the beggining, and then go for wire cup attached to
angle grinder for the wee remainings..
btw merry christmas

only one type of cork I'll be removing over christmas
