Has anyone seen this before? It's not grout between these tiles, looks like tile adhesive or some kind of cement. I want to clean it up to look nicer, because at the moment it just looks like really dirty grout. Any suggestions on how I can make this look nice?

I have tried grinding a bit out with my multi tool and a diamond blade, it takes forever and chips the side of the tiles. I have also tried grout paint but it's very translucent and you can still see the grey underneath.

It's not a huge area (small ensuite), I was thinking of taping it up and painting it but that seems tedious.

Any suggestions?
