    I have started to use Mapei eco prim grip which is expensive but is a really good primer,I have use it on bitumen floors with no hassle.

    How long do you train to become a tiler on those NVQ I did an Apprenticeship for three years is it the same amount of time ? also I wont be getting cscs card happy just to do domestic.

    When I was training many moons ago my boss would say "I dont want to see any voids behind the tiles" he would turn up on the job and pull off a few tiles if there was any voids there would be hell to pay.

    I use rubi stands never had any bother with them I think they are worth the money.

    Yes always if its not drying stick a fan heater on it,never leave the job until its all polished,I know some days it can be a a pig to dry.

    Its when you see some jobs were the tiler can not be bothered polishing really gets me,that's what really makes the job ,I sometimes take twice as long to polish as I do to grout,you leave a dirty job and the customer will find more faults.

    I have now tiled longer with one arm than I did with two,but my work seems to be getter harder now the tiles are getting bigger,the floors are the worst using one arm its hard to support yourself so the back suffers,I have made a tile trolley for floors which makes it easy for the big tiles.

    Yer it did my brother was a tiler as well, we work together for 27 years so it did not come to hard as he would help at the beginning if I was on my own I think that I would have give in,it gets a bit hard putting up the porcs,but my right arm looks a bit like popeyes,lol.
