My house is turn of the century (1900 ish) with cavity wall construction, both inner an outer being of 4" brick.
I'm pretty sure when I get to it the old lime plaster will almost fall off and will no way be suitable for the 600 x 200 porcelain I'm planning so I'll be left with bare brick.
I've seen the hardibacker board recommended elsewhere on this forum and have also seen the installation instructions on ther web site. i.e flexible adhesive and mechanical fastening.
A couple of questions if I may.
Would 6mm Hardi be a suitable backer for my walls, fixed as per the instructions?
Could I substitute 6m Marmox to add a little more insulation?
I'm trying to standardise on Mapei cos I know where to buy that so would Kerra Quick be a suitable addy?
Would the brick need priming, if so with what?

Thanks,
