Hi I’m a total beginner. I had a builder fit some laminate in dining room and while he did that he noticed we had the tiles for the hallway. Long story short he did the tiling but after few months we had grout coming up and tiles coming loose. Then discovered he hadn’t put anything over the top of the floor boards and just tiled onto them.
I have decided to try and retile the hallway.
I have fitted no more ply 6mm and screwed it down and also used the mega adhesive as recommended by no more ply. What is the next thing to do as I noticed that in some places the No more ply is a little raised and not flush with the next piece, when I asked in the shop they said it didn’t matter if it was totally flush with the piece next to it. Is that correct?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Morning.. they don’t have to be totally flush. The adhesive will accommodate that.
What tiles will you be using ?

I’ll be using glazed porcelain 200x200 10mm thick.
I’ve got some floor tile adhesive and grout from the local b and q as was advised by one of there staff.

I ordered a floor levelling kit to try and keep each tile level.

I’ve also got a little concrete floor in the porch area to do but not sure on best way to put the No more ply whether to seal it and glue it or to seal it put adhesive down and then put the No more ply

I’m not sure if it is s1 or not. Which would you recommend then and with the porch it’s about lower then the hall now I fitted the nmp. So I was going to use it to level it up if I’m honest.

When tiling am I right in
1 spread adhesive with 10m notches.
2 back butter the tile
3 add tile pushing it forward and finally into place
4 adding the tile spacers around
5 hope it looks good afterwards

That's not the correct adhesive by a long way. You need a powdered adhesive you mix yourself - that adhesive even says its only suitable for ceramic tiles so I'm not sure why B&Q recommended it. Go to a proper tile shop. An S1 adhesive will say so on the bag! Go for a reputable brand (I use Mapei as preference but many other suitable brands available).

Thank you. I have bought the mapei grout should have had the same. Well I did question that and on the back it says maximum of 3mm bed.

Chuck that in the skip

Hi there go to your local tile supplier and get Mapei s2 as that flexible as this is the best adhesive to use when there’s a lot of traffic on the tiles like the hallway .
When you say mapei s2 does it Ultralite S2 On the bag. Or is that a different one. I was hoping to start tiling tomorrow not everything is down and primed
