hi folks customer has a wet room already. But floor has a thick vinyl type covering,he now wants it tiled.I started to peel off vinyl(its gonna take a while) all the sub floor is plywood including the fall into the drain,i was expecting it to be a plastic tray.was going to look at tanking the area immediately around the drain (ie shower area) .i have never used a tanking system yet but need to learn sometime.my main concern is the wooden subfloor will water penetrate through the grout to it?should i tank the whole floor? or is it a bad idea to tile in this situation?
