I need advice on wet room floor?

there are 4 triangle shaped pieces of ply running down into drain just like a tray would have

You won't need training on tanking but you can get DVD's etc or footage of how to on some manufacturers web sites. Essentially if you can paint you can use most tanking kits.

ply is fine nothing was getting through that plastic flooring!!

If its a wet room, yeah you want to tank the entire floor

How thick is the ply which I understand is directly on joists

18mm i think that it is on floorboards for most of the room not sure about drain area

Worth checking, I must admit I would go for a tray, Tuff2 is a solid one then tank the whole floor.

There's no deflection on the floor by the way
