floor tiling into other rooms

hi
if i have to floor tile into a few different rooms like a living room , hallway, kitchen etc
then do i set out as usual with a base line and cross line in the main feature/important room, then transfer a line throught to the next room and see where the tiles fall. if they are acceptable then i am lucky but if they are not, then is it a case of juggling the main feature room lines until there is a happy compromise in all the rooms. i cant see any other logical way off getting perfect setting out in muliple rooms. the only thing i can think of it to get the main room right and then juggle the rest. if this is correct then it must drive a tiler mad rubbing out chalk lines just when you think everything looks right

You got it Ross, spot on. Make your self a jury stick marking the size of your tiles on to show you what cuts are where. You could maybe seperate rooms at the thresholds but guess customer wants it to run through. Remember expansion joint he different substrates!

Remember though ross........you won't get good size cuts everywhere, there will have to be a compromise somewhere.......It is worth checking to see what you get but don't panic if you do get the odd small cut....it's not worth upsetting the balance of a room just to get 1 or 2 cuts bigger in another room.......

Remember to try and use an outside wall as well as your reference points to do your initiall setting out at the start

I have 82 yds 3 size modular to do when i can fit it in,4 rooms it connects through,i can size this out no prob but a right angle laser would help me to no end on so many jobs so have to get one asap,need new 3' level too,lol.
