help on my first job trying to cut 330 x 330 ceramic floor tiles - THEY WONT CUT PROPERLY - WHY HELP!!!!

What cutter are you using? Are they definately ceramic?

Yes Ceramic And Its A Rubi Cutter

try scoring them on your cutter then breaking them over a pensil

Remember to only score once, the more score lines you have the more chance there is of the break following all the score lines and end up looking messy.

Replace the scoring wheel if it looks poorly.

Try a quick motion on the breaker and then a slow motion on a different tile and see if you have a preference afterwards in terms of quality of cut and ease of cut.

Does the tile have a rough finish? Can you tell us anything else about the tile or cutter or anything?

Remember to score all the tile, this includes the lip of the tile. As Dan says, try changing your wheel. Check to see you are using the right wheel (10mm is a good one for floor tiles).

Also depending upon the tile finish this can make it hard to break....turn the tile over and score the back of the tile and break it that way....just small a tip from me........dave...

Many Thanks for the replies. I was breaking them in the wrong place (Half way downshould have been 1 inch down).Completed the job with good results.10 hours to do 12m2 fifty pence piece conservatory!!Feel like i have done a few rounds with Ricky Hatton!!Bring on the Grouting!!
