Hi all,
Finally getting to lay the tiles in our renovated kitchen tomorrow, its been slow going but the end is in sight! Tiles are 200x200x9 porcelain Floor will be levelled with Ardex NA. Thinking A77 for adhesive and wanted to get you guys advice as to whether I

1. Should use a decoupling membrane? No issue buying, but want to make sure it’s worthwhile? We live in an old Victorian terrace which is prone to movement through the seasons (no idea if that effects the kitchen concrete!)

2. Any advice on laying the SLC, it'll be 6 bags and my first time! Do I need the floor to just be 'flat' or absolutely level? Should I mix all bags at the same time, or just good prep and work as I go?

3. What size trowel? I've got an 8x8 and 10x10, surely anything more is overkill for the size of tile?
Hope you can help, the fun starts tomorrow..

All the best and thanks in advance.

Update.

Poured the SLC but have ended up with an uneven floor. Mega.
You have to work fast but it's important to use a good smoother tool to help level it out right after pouring. I've seen some on Utube use a spiked roller instead. If it's not even, you can either repour if you can deal with the extra height or grind it down to smooth. Not fun but Ive done it and it makes a dusty mess. Hope by now you've worked it out.
