As for your price, I would be around £1200 for tiling, grouting & siliconing. Any prep work (tanking etc is extra!)

Ply on walls? If it's being tanked (properly) whats the problem?

If water gets in, and only a ducks *** can keep water out sometimes, the ply will swell, surely it's better using backer board than ply in ANY situation Ali?

And even tanked ply will move with climate but not backer boards [emoji15]

Absolutely. Wouldn't be my "choice" of subatrates to use. But if it meets the standards, is installed correctly, and is also tanked then it can be tiled on.

Just getting that bit in before this thread explodes with "walk away" posts.

In this day and age it wouldn't be the top choice of prep no. But we can't always have an ideal world.

Just interested to know how you worked out that price? Obviously I haven't seen the job but, I would estimate about £850. 4 days work and materials,
