No such thing as a stupid question ( but it’s close)!
Glaze surface up so your cutting through the glaze and make sure you put the blade in the grinder correctly so it’s cutting in the direction of the arrow.
Now if I’am cutting a hole in the tile I do cut on the back and punch the hole out the front.

and punch the hole out the front....;(
