Tile bullnoser and polisher

Hi guys need polish the edge of Jura stone tiles may also need to bullnose them does anyone know of a good place on line to get one ? And how easy it will be ?thanks colin

Hi ,yes have worked with stone before but have never had to bullnose any
and have only ever polished a few edges with wet and dry ,but there's a lot to do so thought a polisher would be the way to go

Hi, if you don't have much of bullnosing to do, then use grinder and finish with polisher. How thick is your tile?

Hi tony stone is 18mm thick, there just seems to be so many polishers/pads didn't know where to start

Where did I see a video the other day of a bullnosing tool/machine that was new to the industry? Can't even remember if it was an attachment to a drill or an actual table-top machine. It looked neat anyway if somebody can find it.

It's one of these you're looking for.

M14 fitment - will attached directly to a polisher or variable speed grinder and is self guiding.

That's if you want double edge bullnose.. single edge nosing is mostly used.. and they are like this..

then you want wet or dry diamond polishing pads with a variable speed polisher...

Full bull nose and Half bull nose are the correct terms.

Step treads usually used a full bull nose if there's an overhang, that way you don't get your foot/ankle caught on a sharp underside edge. Same for cappings and window sills.

Half bull nose would be used for skirting tiles or where stone finishes flat on a wall.

A pencil edge is basically a half bull nose that is a small radius - circa 3mm to 5mm.

A few of my customers also use the Makita polishers alongside their Flex machines. They seem to rate them well for the money.

I don't sell the power tools, just the bits to go in them. The legislation and margin means it just isn't worth it unless I'm shifting thousands of units.

i have a dewalt water fed profiling router. can get from stone machinary uk.cost £ 545.00 plus vat.
great little machine and well worth money if you do a lot of bullnosing and easily portable to do work on site.
done loads of pool surrounds with this machine.
if occasional user ats diamond bits better value i think.
are you based near me ats?

If you're regularly doing bull nosings for pool copings for example then one of those router machines is absolutely ideal.

Like you say, for everyone else that does the occasional set of steps or window sills then the self guiding router bits are ideal.

The drill bits have surprised me to be honest, we brought them in as a DIY product that were aimed at the domestic market as a low cost solution for people who wanted to drill half a dozen holes and were unlikely to use them again, people that are not about to spend £90 on a single drill bit. The volume of trade orders we're getting has caught us by surprise.
