shower leak

Good evening to the Forum, my first post, advice appreciated. Called to shower leak,
ceiling below on its last legs. Ripped off the tray trim to find void between soggy
bottom edge of plasterboard and shower tray. Dried it out with hairdryer,then ran
bead of 785 in the gap, and bedded in a ceramic effect plastic quadrant and smoothed
off. Couldnt see customer going for bottom course ripped off and put back with a
H*****x under the tile bath trim. Would experienced members have approached
the job differently? Thanks, Dean.

hi dean,yes if the ceiling below is on its last legs due to this leak i would have insisted ona full rip out nothing less.

implications. Got carried away with success
after two others had taken her money then

Thanks whitebeam. Answers question asked myself, why
doesn't anyone advertise stopping shower leaks armed
with silicone gun. Dean.

only ripping it out would please me, when it fails again the finger gets pointed at you.
The leaks have probaly caused damage that has now been covered over.
I hope it does not cause more problems for you
