recommended primer for green gyproc that has been emulsioned?

Hello chaps,
just visited a job i am starting on monday, only to find the customer has emulsioned the shower room new moistureboard!!, I will be using mapei green top addy, and am wondering if i should risk going straight over it?, but for peace of mind, what primers would you boys recommend?

Just doing a bit of research on the BAL website, and it appears that, as i am using ready mixed addy, it should be ok to tile direct onto the emulsioned board...., would like to know your opinions/recommendations??

hi paul,i use cement based addys for tiles that size although you are just within recommnded size limits to user your tubbed addy..

im not keen on tiling onto painted surfaces ...is it a mist coat thats been applied or has it been properly painted by the customer?

i wouldn't use bucket adhesive on moisture resistant plasterboard it will never dry unless you want to leave it 2 weeks before grouting

In a nutshell - you can not tile onto emulsion!

the builder has given it a 2-3 coats of contract emulsion (NOT vinyl emulsion) against my and the customers advice....

hi paul as above 3 costa of emulsion i would suggest re boarding the area

as you know plasterboards not expensive so shouldnt be too much of an issue i hope for you but i wouldnt advise tiling to a 3 coated wall

next day take one off bet its still wet in the middle but i have never seen green top adhesive but then i haven't used bucket adhesive for thirty years

OK, so when i buzz/sand the emulsion off, what substrate primer should i use?......also, remember that this is contract emulsion, it does allow moisture to pass through it
