Right I'm fed up of getting real tough porcelain tiles and going through loads of diamond blades, so I'm thinking of biting the bullet and buying a Marcrist PG850 Tile Drill set!?!?!

Anyone used one, are they are good as all the talk, do they last a long time, and so hopefully pay alot of the cost is not buying as many bits and time drilling?

This is the stuff:

PG850 Fastest and Longest Life Tile Drill | Marcrist

Looking forward to hearing your experiences!!!

hi steve
marcrist pg850 are top professional specialist equipment mate. they will last you a long time, no worries there. i have just bought the full pipe kit . i also used to use them prior to this new set. they claim to do 2800 holes.

heres a video of them

a mate of mine doesnt use the water bottle, (dont tell marcrist ;0) he dips them in water and uses a damp sponge around the bit when drilling (like 365 do)..hes had his for 5 years and they are still going strong. i personally would recommend that all day long.

marcrist blades are not bad, its just they are really designed for dry cutting according to marcrist, thats why the have the serrated rim as opposed to the continuous rim.

hope this helps a bit

Yeah saw that video and was well impressed, you never know how a product works until its on site as this is a sales video so thought Id hopefully find people who have got one and if it lasts and does what it says on the tin.

Thinking about buying the smaller bathroom kit but then adding a couple of extra bits to it, dont mind spending the money on tools if it works and saves time - never regretted buying any of my Rubi tools

Dipping in water dos'nt cool the bit enough, it needs a steady flow...

That's the problem. You need two hands on the angle grinder especially on a wall. They're supposed wet or dry use so I just did my best to take time, not put too much pressure on the bit and keep cooling it as often as possible

i have quite a number of marcist bits bought from tradetiler. they are real quality and certainly worth the money.
i really dont understand why anyone who is a pro and drilling holes on a regular basis would not want or need something like this.
I have bits from other quality manufacturers as well and they are much of a muchness i think. its only when you go for low end cheap charlie bits that you can really tell the difference.
the one on ebay ed is starting at that price unfortunately coz if that was to buy now price i would get now just for spares in future.
ishi69 is right about the montolit dna blades. dave at tradetiler sold me a blade for my big black porcelain 1000 x 1000 x 20mm job which i have shown on this forum recently. it was way out ahead of other quality blades i had for various saws.
i recommended this blade on forum some time ago.
we managed to cut a 3mm strip 1000mm long with is blade. it is well worth the extra money.
