Mapaigum straight onto plasterboard

Hi, what are peoples thought about tanking unskimmed plasterboard with mapaigum prior to tiling? Is it an acceptable way to go?

I hope so because that's the way I do it, make sure you use the primer though and overlap the tape onto the tray a tiles width (cut the mesh off)

As @Bathfix Bob says. Primed plasterboard is best way
