Just wondering what height to cut clear - Tile + How much for adhesive?

The tiles are 59cm x 59cm porcelain and 9-12mm thick. I have a 20mm trowel. I think that is 15mm height so applied at an angle presumably will be somewhere between 9 and 12mm (depending on angle)... is there an official way to work this out?

The house is not that old so door frames are an MDF style material and should be easy enough to cut away.

You’re doing a great job of not caring what I say. Keep up the good work:thumbsup:

Now I'm completely confused!

Context old chap. The vast majority of my work is bathroom related so I would remove the architrave but if I were to do a kitchen floor for example then sometimes I would leave it on especially if it’s purely a floor and nothing else. If I was doing a whole kitchen refurb and skirting, I’d replace the architrave too. Better job IMHO. Each job is different.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and fairly new to tiling, my only previous "proper" job was my recent bathroom (600x600 porcelain, about 25m walls and floors) which went pretty well. I'm now having a go...
