cleaning dust from marble tile before fixing

hello again

sorry for all the questions but my mind is on overdrive and everyone is so helpful

when cleaning the dust off the back of the marble tile is it best to just use water or is there any product i should add, Do you guys just wipe the dust off let dry and fit, i was thinking of going up the night before and cleaning them all knowing they would be dry by the morning and ready to go.. sorry if this sounds daft but like i said mind on overdrive.

Im getting a more experienced fella to help me and i dont want to look a plonker straight away.

Just clean the back of the tile with a damp sponge as you lay them - "damp" note, not dripping wet! and if necessary dry off with a cloth before fixing. You are going to back skim aren't you?

sound advice from grumps..damp not soak as you want the adhesive to get a 'bite' into the stone, not float on a surface layer of water!

Just burn the back of the tile in with adhesive... then bed it.

:lol:... nope.. it is just flat siding the back of the tile with adhesive.. term is used when burning adhesive into an unprimed screed as well.. makes sure it will stick.
