Discuss Can anyone tell me what type of tile? in the Tile Cleaning and Restoration Forum area at TilersForums.com.

1940’s Dutch colonial house- is this terra cotta tile or something else? Trying to decide if it’s worth trying to clean and save or if we should tear it up. Thanks!

They look like red quarry tiles but as you are in the USA my knowledge of manufacturers in the states is limited.

In the UK, these would have been made by Denis Ruabon, Daniel Platt or Shaws to name but a few.

Unfortunately, quarry tiles like these are rare and very difficult to purchase.
You can still buy quarry's at CTD Tom,
