The Removing Wardrobe was a sub-department of the British Royal Household. It was responsible for looking after the furnishings which travelled from palace to palace. The office was headed by the Yeoman of the Removing Wardrobe (a sinecure office), assisted by two grooms and three pages, all appointed by the Lord Chamberlain. The department was abolished in 1782.

    Removing Primer from walls/tiles/acrylic

Hi chaps, I’m mid way through my first DIY tiling, taking 3 half tiled walls above a bath to full tile, then adding a shower. I stripped the paint off of the plasterboard where I wanted to add tiles, then primed it using Mapei plaster primer. Unfortunately despite using masking tape to mask...

Removing 'picture framing' from tumbled limestone

Hi folks, I have a problem I'm desperately hoping someone can help with. I laid a tumbled limestone floor in a kitchen 2 weeks ago and when I applied the LTP Mattstone sealer that the tile supplier recommended, it turned the tiles from light grey, to more of a brown colour which is exactly...

Hi All, Weve had one of our contractors install some small hexagon mosaics recently and have just had an angry phone call about the condition of the grout. Not sure of the cause, but this is what it looks like - pretty shocking. The gappy patch in the middle is probably the worst of it...

You...

Regrout job. Is my tiler removing enough old grout?

Getting a bathroom regrouted, bit concerned tiler has only taken the top layer of old grout out. Thought at least 3mm of tile sides needed exposing for the new grout to adhere? Please let me know your opinions.
