Using wedi style backer board for tiling bathroom floor. Will be a standard bath going in & wondered do you just board up to where the bath will go, leaving the bath to just sit on the floorboards or board the whole floor and site the bath on the backer board too? Thanks

Excuse me of this has been done to death but my normal prep for chip board or floor boards (besides fixing the boards themselves) is to glue and screw 6mm cement board then over the top with Ditra mat. Is this too belt-and-braces to do in every situation or is this the norm? Cheers.

has anybody plastered 12.5mm kerdiboard? We have a small section in our bathroom that will not be tiled and it's easier extending the Kerdi rather than putting hardibacker up in its place. Also has anybody used a c2 s2 to attach it to a good plastered wall. Thanks Rach

Hi, just a quick question. What screws should I use/you use on new cement boards in the bathroom before tiling? The Hardie screws are not that great I'm told, do you have any links to screws good for mounting the panels to the wall.

My local tile merchant recommended I put 6mm insulation backer boards over my floor rather than the concrete type as they're 100% waterproof and easy to work with. Are they strong enough to take the weight of the bath and cope with me walking about on them while I do the rest of the job?
