Underfloor on insulation boards

What's everyone's preferred method of securing loose wire element to insulation board before slc?
obviously tape, but I think personally it covers too much floor.

I tried the glue gun method a few years ago but couldn't get on with it. I use very thin tape (same as type supplied by warmup) which usually holds it pretty well.

I've gone back to rapid set addy and grout flout to stick the wire down before slc'ing

I use tape. I've tried hot melt glue gun but found it too slow. And occasionally too hot. Ouch.

Does everyone use slc over the ufh. I tend to tile straight away using plastic tools...or float addy over the ufh and back comb addy to the tiles. It saves waiting for slc to go off and I've never had a problem yet.

I always put ufh into a screed as it avoids any air pockets when you are tiling..

Has anyone tried priming the subfloor and then laying the UFH element whilst the primer is still tacky? It should work - i use this method when demonstrating levellers being applied over UFH but i have never tried it over a large area.

We have a new leveller being launched very soon that will allow you to tile within 60 minutes of applying the leveller. I'll keep you all informed.

that would probably work, but feet and knees would stick too!

I have aver always primed the insulation boards before laying the cables........the tape sticks a lot better, and then self level.

I use a telecom cable stapler, the staple does not go in all the way, it sits just high enough to secure the UFH cable without cutting/compressing the wire. Then drop the screed on top
