I have removed the finish on two full walls leaving a sand / cement render. I now plan to fix the tiles with a cement-based adhesive on these two walls. On a third wall I will only be tiling two rows up from the bath.

Do I level the SC render with the adhesive, let it set and then tile on top using the same adhesive?

Could I also do the same with the wall only having two rows of tiles leaving the original multi finish in place. In other words the lower part of the wall is stripped of the finish, levelled with Cement-based adhesive whilst the top remains in multi finish?

You can use the tile adhesive to level the walls, use a straight edge/featheredge. Send us some pictures. Good luck!
