Hello, just joined forum.
As a retired tiler You may question my question as silly. But here goes.
Consider: entirely solid , flat , 40 yr old floor .
People say...minimum 10mm of adhesive, why?
I' ve seen solid bathroom floors with mosaic tiles with so little adhesive that is 40 yrs old and still perfect.

So why the thick adhesive for bigger tiles if floor is perfectly flat?
Question 2 best adhesive for thin bed under large tiles. The technology is constantly changing

Welcome to the forum :) No question is silly here. Is this something you are working on or just pondering?

If it is a project have you got any photos?
Thanks Lou. Yes i’m Pondering laying down tiles on a previously laid TEXTURED porcelain tile base. ... matching the level with another floor. To do so would need 3 mm height of adhesive for a smooth transition to next floor . I thought why don’t they have an adhesive for a 600x600 tile that could do the job satisfactorily. Well maybe they do. So I thought to see what others thought.
