I'm putting in a proposal for a job oop north (Durham, I think that's up north, isn't it?). I'll be having to (if I get the job) lay an area roughly 10m x 6m with irregular shaped pieces of stone, basically it's a map of the UK made up of stone from the correctly corresponding areas. I'll get the stone and then have it cut and prepared ready to be laid. It's outside, going to be used to walk over and the area at the moment is just grassed over, they will be getting the ground sorted to make it suitable for the stone to go down.

My question is, I obviousley need someone to check that what has been put down as the base is correct and that it is suitable in every way for the stone to be laid so how specialist is a job like this? Should I just post it up on the Find a Tiler section, what sort of things should I look to in a company that offers to do it?

I'll build the piece but I'm not going to take a chance in the laying, I need a company experienced in this sort of thing but it's a case of knowing the right questions to ask them.

Cheers
