SLC - Fibreplan or Ultraplan rennovation screed?

Guys, the price diff betwene these is quite large! Would the rennovation screed be ok for UFH on a cement backer board (backer board on 18mm ply screwed to joists) or should I use the fibreplan BAL fibrebase is also another option but still pricey! thanks Dave

UFH: Solid adhesive bed needed over SLC?

SLC'd the UFH cable in my bathroom and toilet yesterday, and will be tiling it in a week's time or so. My question is whether, having SLC'd the cable, I need to ensure that I don't have any voids between the top of the SLC and the underside of the tiles. I'm assuming that it's important to not...

    Slc

Just a general question.. When tiling floors I tend to negotiate small deviations (-4mm over 1.8m) in subfloor adjusting how much adhesive as I think most of us do. How many of you guys just pour slc regardless just to give you the perfect level floor? You might think this would be an extra...

HI First post on this forum. Experienced DIYer but first wetroom. 5mx2m 1st floor, wooden joist, 25mm ext. ply. 20mm Marmox with showerlay. elec UFH. Plan is to lay the showerlay on a bed of c2fs1 tile adhesive (larson) to stand proud of the rest of the floor, so I can lay the UFH and SLC...

    Why bother with slc

I hope this in the right forum, yesterday I spent about 5 hours prepping a kitchen floor with slc. I managed to get it super flat, today I started tiling using a 300x300 un-calibrated split slate, supplied by the customer, sourced from a company who's name begins with W. This slate varied in...

    Application of SLC

Well, I finally got around to sorting out the floor today. But not before I went shopping. Firstly to Tesco and then Trago Mills (Liskeard) I was on the look out for some kind of long armed spreader. These are what I ended up with. On the left is a £1.50 squeegy bought from Tesco and...

    SLC advice

Just some advice please guys. following on from my previous thread I've reset all my markers on the floor. I used screws not packers. To try and make the job easier tomorrow I poured and levelled one bag of SLC to sort out the area that wasn't covered last time, and I intend to level out as...

I am about to go and dig up my SLC - rebag it and return it to Weber!

No, it has not been a good day for me. I did everything I was told. I spent hours over this and I've still ended up with a complete pile of crap! It didn't help that, despite working out exactly how much I needed and rounding up the number in bags. I've ended up with an area of floor...
