Hi all I have a question regarding coarse. If you were looking to take some one on and the had done a 1 week tiling coarse would you see that as a good thing or bad thing. I can not make my mind up if I should do the 1 week or 2 week coarse. What I want to do is the 16 week nvq coarse but as I'm full time employed and have a famile to support 16 weeks without any income I just can't see that happening. Any advice will be gratefully received. Thanks Luke

There is a local place near me in Stockport called the DIY place. But I'm not sure if you get any qualification at the end of it. And I really think getting one will help me get a job .

Diy place doesn't feel me with reassurance, try and find a tiler, offer your services for free to shadow him/her and you will probably learn more doing that.

courses are ok but experience is the only thing that matters and you wont get that till you get out there and do it.
if you can try and find someone (a tiler) to give you some work with them but until you get some speed and get better you may not earn a lot and that may take time but if you stay with it and don't get to down when things go wrong and believe me they will I'm sure you will be fine.

Hi Crowbag
If you are looking for the fastest way of learning how to get into tiling then we offer full professional tiling training in 1 or two weeks, it will give you a huge onsite on how to tile properly, from there you can then start your journey as a tiler our feedback and pictures of what you will be doing on the course in a short time speaks for itself, the DIY course you mentioned above says what you are going to get

Have a look at our feedback UK Trades Training on this forum or visit our website www.tiling-courses.co.uk we now just specialise in pro tiling training
Don't make the mistake of just going to the nearest centre for convenience
here is what you can learn in one week on our course

Best Regards

Same as Gabor I travelled up to uk pro tiling from Essex, so I had others closer to pick from.
I also checked in other areas (manchester etc).
It's good value for money, cheap local accomdation to keep costs down.
