hi im looking at buying a tile cutter so thought id get some advice! please!! i was looking at a einhell 920
with a marcrist blade (only a handyman!) then stumbled upon a norton tt200 for about £120 inc post, is this a far superior cutter??
and will i still need to change the blade? all help appreciated.

thanks for the reply!

i thought that it did look a lot better and still a reasonable price just wondered if anyones used that tt200? they also do a smaller 500 watt, do you think a norton blade would be good enough??

500watt isnt a lot when cutting tiles. I would opt for the Norton, the Einhell looks cheap and also looks like the same type as you can get for a lot less in B&Q (Rubbish IMO) You would be better off with a Plasplugs 180.

Norton blades are good

do you think the plasplugs is better than the norton??? sorry !🙂 i get stressed always trying to buy the right thing lol

If you follow the link to the Norton machine above you will see that it comes with 2 diamond wheels...thats a bonus. It also has a real mitre facility, something the plasplugs machine has problems with.
Looking at the 2 now, i would opt for the Norton. I have a Plasplugs and love it but my honest feeling is that the Norton would be a better buy.

thank
you all for your help looks like il go with the norton, found it for £116 so doesnt look a bad buy!

Hi ashley..go into CTD they have a special on at the moment on norton/clipper machines.......

I have been using a Genesis portable cutter for years but I had to get a new one today as although the cutter still works, the rubber seal from behind the blade just got too old and crumbled off. Shame I love that cutter... but I replaced with a... ...Vitrex from topps at £99.99 (i needed it urgenty, as the old one is now too riskey to use).

With the induction motor and 750w it cut through 45x45 porcelain (metal finish) like a knife to butter and you can apply good pressure if you need it.

It is also quiter than my last one. Externaly it looks just like the big Plusplug cutter.

I think this is goin to be a winner (for domestic work) and it does not splash water everywhere! :hurray:

Franco.

ok thanks il need to call them! what price are they coming up at cheapest ive seen is 116

cheers
