Hi Guys i’m going to be tiling over skimmed plaster walls in a kitchen for first time. (first time over bare plaster)

Do i need to prime the walls with anything? I use rapid set mapei wall tile adhesive and the brick slips will be made of sand and cement not clay. So basically concrete based tile. Or will i be able to go on straight with the cement based adhesive onto the brown plaster?
