I've got a reasonable sized hole drill that flys through porc, godsend recently as had to do the same. Raked out grout, then chipped out from the middle. All came out nice

Cheers. the biggest daimond hole saw i have is a 40mm. but i will try it if the tap with a hammer doesn't work.

cheers Edd

If you need any diamond drills for this job let me know. The biggest we go up to is 65mm with a guide plate and 125mm without.

65mm drill is the largest with non-slip plate

Brian, if you're thinking about the Standard Bosch multi purpose drills they will struggle with porcelain. I try to use the smaller ones to save the 365 bits if I can as they are cheaper. But the 365 bits get through porcelain no problem.

But at £6.50 a set from B&Q they are worth a shot.

I would definitely buy a set of the 365 bits, and Richard may have some sets at a discount.

I agree with Dave, it really isn't that difficult especially as they have only been down a few days. The most important bit is getting the grout out and then bash away, gently at first then getting firmer until it shatters and then the rest is easy. I don't think you will be able to prise out a whole tile - it will be in lots of little bits. GET YOUR GOGGLES ON - I got a bit in my eye before Christmas and ended up in A&E to get it out.
