Discuss Correct way to using tile grout in the Tile Adhesive / Grout Advice area at TilersForums.com.

Hi,

I read one article saying that when using tile grout, we need to have 2-stage stir . After the first stir of tile grout, just let tile grout stand for 3~5 mins in order to make "redispersible (latex) polymer powder " in tile grout dissolve. If we skip 3~5 mins standing time, part of undissolved redispersible (latex) polymer powder will be carried by moisture to the surface and result in "latex leaching"(not sure I am correct or not) or phenomenon like efflorescence. Does anyone hear of this before from related experts?

Also, does anyone know any other website or forum where I can discuss about construction chemicals (e.g., tile adhesive, tile grout and waterproofing materials) on?

some grouts require constant remixing throughout the grouting process..
it isn't hard though......just read the mixing instructions on the bag...!
Good advice Andy
Most grouts are very similar but can have subtle differences that if followed will help you get the best from the grout.
