The Monty when working with easy to cut tiles is actually very good , its fast to use and the measuring bar with the drop down stop is better than Sigmas , its also good with mosaics @ Miss Tiler , but i wouldnt recommend this cutter over a Sigma to anyone..

Its not the latest model but it looks pretty similar Its this one..

Never thought about it , but you dont want it trust me ,its not good with certain porcelains especially textured ...

Ive got a Monty 75 gathering dust in my garage , its not a bad cutter its just not near as good as a Sigma..

This old chestnut again , ive owned and used em all and the Sigma is the best cutter easily , Watched the video of that new Rubi cutter and i am seriously underwhelmed..

Get a Sigma ! my Monty is lying in the garage collecting dust , its not a bad cutter but it just can deal with some textured tiles...

I would have started as you have set out in the 1st picture with the cuts meeting in the internal corner .

You don't nail plywood, screws only.

I only use 6mm cement boards on bathroom floors now , the cost is not much more than ply but the advantages are 10 fold , easy to transport, cut , fix and its waterproof as well , when fitted correctly to a properly prepared substrate , the cement boards are SOLID when compared to ply.. i still...

What bugs said, i get all my work through recommendations and reputation , no website or adverts apart from signwriting on the van , great deal of work in tandem with bathroom fitters , builders etc, never short of work ....

I would get the job specced as you say by an adhesive manufacturer to be on the safe side...

There are primers on the market for tiling onto impermeable non absorbent substrates , PCI's primer 303 for example...

Back on topic , a case for a sigma is as about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike :-D
