I find if the kind of tile your using gets marked by the mini monty, then a piece of white electric tape over the breaker helps to prevent marks. Once you have a roll of tape, it's cheap to replace to!!
Mistakenly rushed out and bought a rubi washboy soon after finishing my tiling course 2 yrs ago. Used a karl dahm one on the course, and I can't wait till my rubi one finally gets retired.
Still, I always have 2 or 3 grout floats for different shades, and only use segmented sponges. Trick is...
HI guys and girls,
does anyone know if I can get a backer pad for my grinder, and if so where?
I've searched and searched with no success! Can only find them on ebay in the US.
Cheers
Denis
Anyone ever used one of these??
HTC 420 VS - a small and durable grinding machine
Hire shops would charge around £400+VAT for the machine/transformer and dust extraction. The big cost seems to be with wear and tear on the diamond heads £30-£60 per mm. Would be interested to know if anyone...
Sorry not been on for a while. Things been up/down, off and on.
I just had an interesting point to make on this topic. 2 yrs ago, I bought a lead off ratedpeople that cost me £3.
The lead said 3m2 bathroom floor Travertine, my first stone job. Turned out to be a full bathroom. Affluent...
I've used it since I started out on my own last year. I have found it useful to an extent, but I am now coming to the same conclusions as everyone else. The lead costs have gone up considerably in the last 12 months as they have started to do more national advertising to promote the site...
Nybor, I would like to gain some proper commercial experience (have worked in domestic tiling for the last few years) and hope to progress into more commercial work over the next few years. Trafford centre is about 6 or 7 miles from me, so let me know if I can be of any assistance and gain some...
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone at Mapei for a very interesting and informative day.
The best tip I got was about mixing the grout. I realised after watching the demo that my grout mixes were to wet!!
First time I grouted after the training day, it went on much easier and got a better...
Never mind Mike. It'll be something to look forward too. I still can't find my email from Suze, so I'm just heading to halesowen!! I seem to recall thats where it is!!
Thanks for the advice about tiles Gary. I'll make sure I check that non-slip spec. I was planning to scarify, clean & render the concrete steps first.
Some very nice tiling there hillhead. Cheers for sharing. I do like the granite, but don't think the overall budget will stretch that far...
I'm working at home this week. Got a pitched roof to re-felt, re-batten, and re-fit roof tiles. Hoping I don't break much when I pull them up!!
Then I have an en-suite to finish & tile the week after.
Looking into the Ruabon Large Format Quarry Tiles 306mmx306mm. That's the kind of thing I envisaged, and the company seems to provide other tiles that are upto spec with BS and DDA.
I will check the situation out regarding building regs and the risers. I would feel happier if they were all...
The customer is Private Co-op, so I already accept the responsibility of my advice. That is a big concern to me always, so I will do further research on it this week and check with my insurance co.
I know in this case that if anything does go wrong, it is me that has recommended it to the...
Thanks for the quick reply Del.
I've been wondering about where you get the tape, so that answers a question I hadn't even asked yet. Your link reminded me of a company I know that makes industrial signs nearby, so cheers for jogging my memory, and I've got a 2nd option added to...
Hi all,
I've got a job to do where I have been asked to tile some steps. Got a few question's, so will try to keep it brief.
Firstly, does anyone know who can supply Dural Stepsafe around South Manchester or in UK?
Secondly, there is a picture of the steps in question below. Do you think...
