    tile over floor tiles

Was looking at Ardex A35 Broken Link Removed Advantage is I can grade the fall down from the kitchen doorway to the 15mm minimum depth at other end and could tile next day. Obviously not the insulation properties but that wasn't a concern. Has anyone used this and have advice/opinions?

    tile over floor tiles

Ideally I would remove but if so, I need to raise floor height by average 12-15mm which, if slc'd, would mean a 25kg bag for each mm. Very expensive and time consuming. Is a viable alternative doing the bulk of it with fast setting sand and cement screed, then slc the last few mm? Otherwise...

    tile over floor tiles

I'm starting a hall on Monday 2.5 x 7.5m. Will be laying herringbone pattern like attached pic. Hall was originally 2 rooms, now knocked into one, 2/3 is tiled, rest is wood flooring on solid floor. Levels are not great, where tiled part meets kitchen the last 400mm or so slopes up 25mm to meet...

    Taking up 220m2 of tiles

Sorry mate but 220m at 1/2hr per m is only 110 hours. only 55 days if you do a 2 hr day............, so more like 9-12 man days. Just in case someone's using that number without checking it, would be embarassing

Does anyone have one of these? For £118 it looks very good. Always used table wet saws, wondered how this type works, ie do you clamp tile to workbench and run saw along it? How does this compare with traditional wet saw........

    cheapest 6mm tile backing boards>

Topps are the pits....... So no problem with overlaying 12mm ply with 6mm 'marmox' using addy and screws/washers??? Seems a no brainer when you think about it........

So why would you use 6mm hardi on ply for floors when you can buy these for nearly 1/2 the price?

    Pics of my porcelain floor

Looks great well done. Re Jakarta I think they are great tiles for the money, I've done several jobs with them, as i supply and fit, I can build in good margin with them looking more expensive and customers invariably think they look great. You have sealed them i assume? Re wandering cuts I...

What should i board walls with?

Well, then you are depending on the paint layer supporting the increased weight of the p/b adhesive, p/b, tile adhesive and tiles....... You could mechanically fix the p/b although not that easy to get it plumb. I would roughen the paint as much as poss, SBR bond it and it should hold ceramics ok
