    Help with which tile adhesive??

    Best method of sealing porous tiles

    So I had to seal some slate the other week which I did with a paint brush. Just wondered if there was a better method? (I used the Tile Rite stone sealer) and applied 2 coats and then tested with a whiteboard marker on a spare off cut.

    Porous grout lets water behind tiles and marks when wet

    I've just had my bathroom tiled by a 'professional tiler' and now when the wall gets wet the water penetrates through the grout and into the tiles which then shows up as a dark mark. The tiler is blaming the tiles, they are cheap DIY ones unfortunately and the glaze does not go around the edges...

    Tiling on a non porous surface

    Porous Travertine

    Have been reading opposing opinions on the porosity of travertine, ranging from porous to impervious. Ignoring,if possible ,the natural cavities in the material... is travertine inherently porous. dunk a piece of terra cotta in water and it soon becomes apparant that it is porous as the air...
