Hi Mark, I have used the BAL kit quite a few times and yes you do. The kit comes with all the gumph, primer etc and very easy instructions. Easy peasy.... Paul

I suppose if there is a problem with the slc then you wouldn't know about it as you have tiled over it. It' s my first installation so probably over worrying! I am sure that you have done many and no problems. Thanks

Hi, That's what I understood, SLC manafacturer said it's fine, adhesive manafacturer said warm up the SLC over a week to make sure that there is no structrual/ compound failure. Both probably right however it's not really practical to leave it for a week?

Hi Doug, yes did the resistance tests constantly throughout the laying down, slc, and again today prior to electrician rigging it up. Have not switched on yet through thermostat.... spec for fibreplan does say that installation can be done after 24 hrs, but does not specifically say...

Thought I was okay with UFH process but now confused! Timber floor was overplyed (18mm), 10mm installation, loose cables, SLC (Fibreplan) put down on Saturday. Ready to tile however spoke to Mapei/Bal re time required for UFH/SLC/adhesive to be all okay to go and was told to gradually heat up...

pretty much the same , may be 1mm thinner than ceramics

:whistling:hi, Anyone advise of tried and tested method for installing glass mosaic vertical strip between ceramic. Concerned with slippage etc. Would you tile both sides of strip and then fit, or as you go...using SPF over waterproofed shower area. Would I need Mosaic Fix just for the strip...
