What's the best option when Tiling the inside chamber for a wood burning stove , providing that the stove has the minimum gap between finished wall and stove , is it Best to overboard with hardie , multiboard or just direct to render ? Don't want any cracked porcelain tiles ? Thanks

I’ve only done 2 and they were onto thermal boards that the fire place people fitted. I’d go straight onto primed render if it’s flat enough
