What’s the best tiling gap? 2-3-4mm etc - Tile Advice

Hi,
Second post.
How do you decide what’s the best spacing gap between tiles? I plan on setting 200 x 500 x 8.5mm wall tiles and unsure of what spacers to set between these.
Any advice appreciated

2mm is the norm but be mindful of going wider if they arent rectified edges as it appears to open the joint up

As above 2mm providing they are of decent quality .
I may prove prudent to lay a sq metre on the floor all pushed up together and make sure the joints align

As above 2mm on walls if of good quality although I tend to use 3mm more these days especially on floors it gives you room to correct any discrepancy in the tile. Kop

2mm normally but will go down to 1mm when using tiles with a rounded edge and dark biscuit ( if the tiles allow ) otherwise with a 2mm spacer it ends up looking like you've used 5mm!

2mm in walls, 3mm on floors dependent on the tile as some can be a bit sizey.
