Hi All, ive just been to price a job and uncertain how to approach it. Its a conservatory with a concrete floor with tongue and groove chipboard possibly green boards and on top of that is 9mm hardwood ply. its still 20mm short of existing tiles which i need to carry on run from dining room into conservatory. Hope this makes sense. Tile backer board? Anti fracture matting?

thanks Pete

Chip board over concrete ?
so is it a floating floor?
As far as the customer know its all bin fixed straight into concrete the ply fixed on top of boards

Chip board over concrete ?
I can only go off what I can see down the side around the edges and what customer has told me.

The integrity of the substrate worries me. Its sound enough with no movement but thinking about the expansion and contraction of the timber

If its floating the chipboard needs to come up no question, strip it back to the concrete base, see what height you need to make up and match to the nearest insulation board, various thicknesses available from 4-50mm

I'd use prowarm boards from my supplier personally, but jackoboard do plenty of thicknesses to suit too..

Bare in mind if your sticking 50mm+ Insulation boards down the floor will sounds very hollow due to the foam being high density. It will perform well tho, well insulated. You are not gonna know really until you get it up. Could be floating chip board onto kingspan
