There are two loose tiles on my bathroom floor . Any tips on how to fix this without buying 0kg or 20kg worth of https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ ??

I plan on Mapei Keraquick Tile https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ which seems to come in 5kg and then mixing this with some pvc glue probably from poundland and then applying this to the back of the tile and hoping it will stick down

Does this sound sensible ??????
Any other comments or suggestions ???

the issue is that i dont really want to go to too much effort just for two tiles

Firstly follow the mapei instructions to the letter not only will it work properly it will be easier, secondly have you got any pictures of the said tiles?

First I would find out why they are loose.
Is it a wooden floor ?
Is there grout cracking?
Are the rest of the tiles fixed firmly to the floor or hanging on by a wing and a prayer.
From experience loose tiles normally mean something is not quite right with the whole floor.

Well when i say the tile is loose i have actually removed the whole tile so i can check what sort of floor board is underneath . My understanding is that this Maapei keraquick needs you to buy a special liquid if you are using it on tiles which were already stuck down at one point. This would result in me spending about ÂŁ20 to stick one tile down. Im not a tiler so its unlikely id be using the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ again. The other tiles are ok it was just this one which was way too loose although i have been wondering if there is a sort of bump in the flooring underneath this particular tile .
Thanks

another question is that it looks to me like the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ has been applied to the back of the tile and not the floor . There seems to be very little https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ on the floor . Is this correct ?

Think your problem might be it is laid onto chipboard which is a no no and right over a joint ,my best advise is take it all up and get a tiler o do the job you will always have trouble wth that floor

Bet the rest of the tiles wouldn't take much to get them up, i would be checking that first, looking at your picture the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ hasn't adhered to the chipboard, this could be for any number of reasons.
You could spend money sticking down one tile only for the rest to fail at a later date.

:(
Why was it done on chip board
I thought this would be a quick weekend job. Im not keen on taking all the tiles off and relaying them as id have to spend time and money finding a decent tiler who will understand this. im hoping to save enough to move somewhere nicer this year as well
I bought the keraquick https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ powder so will try that to see if it will stick down and for how long. Like I said there is another loose one but overall most are fine I think

Should I put the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ on the chipboard or back of tile though

ok i have stuck it down using the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ but im not sure i used enough . Im tempted to get some quotes for removing all the tiles, putting plyboard down and putting the tiles back on. Its a very small bathroom and i dont need new tiles. and i have about 4kg of https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ now :(
If i am to get quotes then should i say that this is what i want the tiler to do ? id be more impressed by a tiler who would say that plywood needs to be put down above the chipboard first as i would assume they were more knowledgable and experienced

I'd be happier if the tiler said he was going to use a proper tile backer board rather than ply. Looking at the tile that came up you could probably save yourself some money by lifting the rest yourself and cleaning up the old https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/.

Soaking tiles in a soapy solution has helped me in the past when I've had to rescue tiles ,normally 24 hours does the trick, then a bladed scraper to remove any stubborn addy from the back of tiles.

It works on ready mixed tubbed https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/, on a cement based https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ might be a different matter.(Can't tell from the photo)
