Hi,

I have a porch roughly 1m x 1.5m. The porch was formed by enclosing an external slab. As you can see from the image the slab is part quartz? tile with some new concrete patching, the step into the house is what's beneath the tile (I removed them so I can put in a single stone step). Having previously been an external slab (and dug out the rest of the slabs in the house) I strongly suspect that there is no DPM to it.

I have no reason to suspect any damp and I doubt the slab is under any hydrostatic pressure as that area of the house is slightly elevated above surrounding area. However, I'm thinking of a liquid DPM to be on the safe side. I've had a look around and can't figure out what's best, I was thinking BAL DPM as it states it also doubles up as a primer, but it only comes in one size option and its miles more than what I need. Any other product suggestions?

I should have said, its going to be slate tiled, with a slate cill for the step. I was also thinking BAL pourable adhesive as it seems to give up to 25mm bed which I'll need for the setting the step (tiles are pretty well gauged)?

The wife wants a natural look rather than 'wet look' so I'm thinking of lithofion stain stop. I'm a bit concerned that the floor may end up really scratched, does anyone know if you can apply the lithofin slate seal at a later point if it turns out a little more protection is needed?

Does this sound like a good plan or am I way off mark?

Thanks
