In the photo attached I want to put down a new floor in the kitchen off the hallway. Currently there is lino there.

I'd like to put down something that won't look awful with the Victorian tile hallway.

My first choice is tile, although wood has been suggested that I would always have avoided in a kitchen. We will be putting in new kitchen units, currently leaning towards a shaker style in grey.

Any advice?

Thanks. Yes have been looking at those. There is an incredible choice available now vs 10 years ago in all types of tile.

I suppose I was just wondering if there were particular examples that worked well alongside a victorian tiled hallway. I’m thinking I should steer clear of elaborate design like another victorian pattern. Better to go with a solid colour and try to pick up on one of the colours in the hallway that will also work with the kitchen units
