Solution to a problem.. - Tile Advice

Hi all,

Laying UFH and porcelain tiles in a suspended first floor bathroom, original plan was to replace old floorboards with 18mm ply then 10mm insulation board before UFH and tiling. Issue is there's going to be up to a 20mm step into the bathroom, is there a way to reduce this considerably?

I read that Marmox is not suited to go straight onto joists, however 22mm t&g No More Ply can be but does it have insulating properties for the UFH or is that even an issue at all? Have read differing opinions on using insulation board anyway.
What other options are there?

Whatever you do your always going to have a small step, suprising how thick carpet plus underlay is and a thresher will take some of the difference out. If its still too much skim a gentle ramp out using adhesive under the landing carpet... As suggested in your other thread, 18mm P5 caberboard, 6mm insulation board, wires, slc, adhesive and tiles will give you the least possible build up..

Great, thanks for the advice Andy was just seeing if I could reduce it in any way but i guess it's not raised a huge amount

The gentle ramp out from the door with adhesive makes 10 or 15mm unnoticeable...

I use the Z profile thresholds. They work perfectly without heating but need to slope a touch with.
