Hi all
hopefully I am going to post a completely unbiased review on the sigma 10m9 wet saw. Thiscwill be done in parts over the next week or so as i use it.
Having not owned a rubi wet saw im not comparing.( so not getting into the rubi/ sigma debate.
This arrived on Thursday on a pallet.
first impression is that it looks very well made and quite simple in design. It's a heavy beast when all together but it splits down into a few main parts.

I have weighed the main parts and they come in as follows
Stand. 6 kg
Saw inc water tray and splash guard. 26kg
Sliding table. 21 kg
So in parts it's not bad at all to transport . It goes together very easily, first open up the stand and put the cutter on top, the sliding table inserts into two tightly machined holes and then you tighten up the angle adjusting bolts. The blade guard simply slots in under the cutting table.
So here it is complete. But without the blade guard and bevel.

Have tried a few cuts today using some 600 x 600 villeroy and boch porcellain tiles and it cuts perfectly square out of the box.
Mitreing is very good as there is no blade deflection.
The motor is very quiet and water spray is minimal, but it does drip off the table at various points.
On the bad side I can't stop it taking the corner off the tile when cutting from an point to point, no matter how slow I cut. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I will post more and pictures of the cuts as I use it.

To summarise, right now I feel the same as when I got an "I phone" . Wouldn't be without it now but struggling at the moment.

when cutting point to point make a small incision with the blade first and then turn around and go the other way the weight of the largertiles make them snap in my experience

As above. I think there is a video on the Sigma website that shows this for the 10M9.

I have the baby sister to this machine , awesome quality they are.

As above to stop stress break out which happens on any wet saw , then insert a cut into the tile and then rotate for the rest of the length.

This does not happen that often on the dewalt, it must be the fact that the cutting wheel is rotating the other way round.
Tried a parallel cut on a 100mm tile this morning using the fence. Was effortless, I cut off 30 mm without any break out.

This how Sigma demonstrate a diagonal cut.

Which blade were you supplied with? I love my 9p more and more every day with 86c blade. Hi 5 to Dave for the heads up. Hopefully santa will drop me 10 on the 25th!

What can the 10m do that the 9p can't?

It is a much bigger machine Bri , it can cut a longer length of tile from the fence without having to remove it ... and is ideal for repetitive cutting..

The motor is also a 3HP on the 10M .. the 9P is a 1HP...

Gotcha, so the 10 isn't really ideal for an everyday cutter due to its size.

I suppose it depends how strong you are

The 9P is an every day saw and the 10M is the beast for those large stone floors etc where you want the grunt to make the job easier... it makes the dewalt look like a toy.

I love my dewalt, I like the plunge feature most of all, makes non-straight cuts very accurate. You need to get this trade day organised so I can see what all the fuss is about!
