Preparation

Hi I’m looking to tile my bathroom and I’m just wondering if I can tile straight onto these walls once I scrape off the loose https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ and plaster or does it need to be rebounded? Also I’m tile the whole way up do I need to remove the emulsion paint it seems stuck well to the wall and not flaking? I’m going to use Mapei plaster primer before tile and the tiles I’m using are 600x300 porcelain.

thanks

Best to give the paint a sand and then score all over the top half with a Stanley blade to give a better https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ bond.
Scrape and make the bottom half flat like the top then prime all walls and use flexible cement based https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/. Before all the above make sure there's no bounce on your walls. Good luck 👍
