1. Dot and Dab is laying 2cm porcelain onto wet mortar dabs, Adpeds is laying screed pedestals that have to dry before fixing porcelain with cement based tile adhesive.
2. Dot and Dab has variable sized dabs with no cross support between slabs. Adpeds have same sized pedestals that cross link between slabs to provide additional stability.
3. Dot and Dab uses variable mixes of sand and cement mortar which achieve poor adhesion to the porcelain slab. Adpeds use porcelain specific adhesives that are designed to stick to porcelain.
4. Dot and Dab jointing will eventually fall through to the void below. The Adped system uses a compression joint to hold the joint.
5. Dot and Dab you have to level each tile as you lay. Adpeds are pre-levelled so laying the tiles is quick.
6. Dot and Dab is an unacceptable fixing method, Adpeds comes with a guarantee.
