I have an Edwardian quarry tile floor that is either unsealed or has not had seal applied for many years. Builders replastered the ceiling without putting any protection on the floor. Despite an industrial clean the tiles appear now to be bleached by the plaster or possibly etched (the floor was not like this before the replastering). Any ideas on how to deal with this?

Give the problem to the builder, they’ve damaged it, they can repair it, it’s not your problem.
With any luck you’ll have a photo of the floor
pre plastering.
