Gutting kitchen to walls. Not replacing tile. Not sure Ceramic or Porcelain.
Island is getting a little larger. Cutting tiles to match new dimensions is possible.
Very large area so no plans to replace tile any time soon. But maybe someday.
There are some cracked tiles which 'sound' hollow when tapped. And some sound hollow not cracked. I'm a little concerned that cabinet weight might cause more cracks.
How important is it to cut out tile so cabinet sits on slab not tile?
Any other considerations?
Thanks

Problem is it doesn't sound like your tiles are fixed well possibly what we call dot and dab . Basically fixed on for a of https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ leaving voids under heath your tile . If you place one of your kitchen unit legs on one of the voids you will be point loading that area so there is a good chance of a tile breaking . So if you are not prepared to replace it may be a good idea to cut around the units but remember you only need to cut out as far as the support legs go and then plinth and end panels will cover the cuts .
